Notes Edit

  • Base stats upgraded from 24/20 to 35/32, and ability upgraded from +40 army to +60 army on 3/18/2014, as part of an upgrade of items from Alpha, Vanguard, and Onslaught chests.
  • Mephistopheles is also two monsters
  • In the first Castle Age storyline, Mephistopheles is the "Big Bad" -- the ultimate villain that you are (supposedly) trying to defeat throughout all the main quests.
  • The "extra army" provided by this general, as well as other generals with the similar ability, only allows you to use more army members than the normal 501 army limit for invasions. It does not actually provide you any extra army members. If you don't have more than 501 army members, this general doesn't do anything.
  • He is also a demi-god in Heart of Darkness.
  • With full equipments, Mephistopheles provides +11 stamina, which becomes the best stamina-boosting non-stat-transfer general at LVL4, unless you have lots of generals with Azeron or Kilgore after LVL7. This is useful as a level-up general.

Etymology Edit

Mephistopheles is the demon summoned by Faust in the Faustian legend (cf. Marlowe's Doctor Faustus). In the story, Faust gives up his soul in exchange for knowledge and worldly pleasures. 174.103.189.172 04:38, March 26, 2012 (UTC)

Mephistopheles is also the lord of the Eighth layer of the Nine Hells of Baator in Dungeons & Dragon's Forgotten Realms setting.
